The Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN) has announced the launch of its inaugural Artificial Intelligence Knowledge Hub, a three-week hybrid capacity-building programme designed to deepen understanding of AI among communication professionals.
According to PRCAN’s Public Relations Officer, Monday Ashibogwu, the initiative aims to equip practitioners with the skills needed to remain competitive in a rapidly digitising communications landscape. The programme is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja.
The Knowledge Hub is being championed by the association’s Executive Council, led by Dr Nkechi Ali-Balogun, and will feature both local and international AI experts. Among the confirmed facilitators are Karl Haechler, Chief Executive Officer of Burson Africa, and Tomiwa Aladekomo, Chief Executive Officer of TechCabal Nigeria.
Adetola Odusote, Chairman of PRCAN’s Education Sub-Committee, described the programme as a strategic evolution of the association’s training mandate, emphasising the need to prepare communications professionals for the impact of digital disruption through the responsible and intelligent application of Artificial Intelligence.
The hybrid event will include targeted sessions, case studies, interactive workshops, and demonstrations of AI tools. Key topics to be covered include AI algorithms in public relations, managing digital disruption, crisis communication in online environments, AI-driven content creation and analytics, reputation management, and deepfake detection.
PRCAN has extended invitations to senior and mid-level professionals from both the public and private sectors, including members of allied industry bodies, to participate in the maiden edition of the Knowledge Hub.
