The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled, results-driven SEO Expert & Content Writer with strong knowledge of modern search engine optimisation, content strategy, and digital publishing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing SEO strategies, producing high-quality, engaging content, improving the visibility of AIBase Nig across traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered search platforms, and helping to lead our content and SEO efforts.

You should be comfortable working independently, analysing data, identifying opportunities, managing priorities and collaborating with writers, journalists and other members of the team.

Most importantly, you should have a genuine passion for AI, technology, digital media and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

SEO Strategy & Search Growth

• Develop and implement comprehensive SEO strategies to increase organic traffic, search visibility, rankings and audience growth.
• Conduct keyword research and search-intent analysis to identify high-value content opportunities.
• Develop topic clusters, content pillars and topical authority strategies.
• Optimise existing content to improve rankings, traffic, engagement and conversions.
• Develop strategies for improving organic visibility across Google and other search platforms.

On-Page & Technical SEO

• Demonstrate expert knowledge of on-page SEO, including titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, URLs, schema markup and content structure.
• Optimise content for search intent, topical relevance, readability and user experience.
• Develop and maintain effective internal-linking strategies.
• Ensure content is structured to maximise its potential to appear in featured snippets, People Also Ask, news surfaces and other search features.

Off-Page SEO & Authority Building

• Develop and execute effective off-page SEO strategies.
• Build high-quality, relevant and authoritative backlinks.
• Identify link-building, digital PR, and media outreach opportunities.
• Identify opportunities for brand mentions, citations and authority building.
• Develop strategies to increase AIBase Nig’s authority and credibility within the Nigerian and African AI ecosystems.

GEO & AI Search Optimisation

• Understand Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and how AI-powered search and answer engines are changing online discovery.
• Develop strategies to increase the likelihood that AIBase Nig content is discovered, cited, and referenced by AI-powered search systems.
• Optimise content for emerging search experiences, including AI-generated answers and conversational search.
• Understand the relationship between traditional SEO, entity optimisation, topical authority, structured data and AI search visibility.

Content Writing & Editorial

• Write accurate, engaging, authoritative and SEO-friendly articles covering AI and technology.
• Produce different forms of content, including news articles, explainers, analysis, guides, features, and evergreen content.
• Ensure all content satisfies search intent while remaining genuinely useful and engaging for readers.
• Conduct thorough research and verify information before publication.
• Edit and improve existing articles for accuracy, readability, SEO performance and engagement.
• Maintain high editorial standards and ensure that content adheres to AIBase Nig’s editorial guidelines.
• Work closely with journalists, contributors and other writers to improve content quality and search performance.

Social Media & Content Distribution

• Use social media strategically to distribute content and increase audience reach.
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge of major social media platforms, including X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and other relevant platforms.
• Identify trending conversations and content opportunities across social platforms.

Team Leadership

• Review and edit content where necessary.
• Help establish efficient editorial and SEO workflows.
• Take ownership of SEO and content-related projects and ensure deadlines are met.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must possess:

• Proven professional experience in SEO and digital content writing.
• Expert-level knowledge of both on-page/on-site and off-page/off-site SEO.
• Strong understanding of modern search engine algorithms and ranking factors.
• Strong keyword research and search-intent analysis skills.
• Excellent content-writing and editing skills.
• Ability to write clear, engaging, accurate and compelling content.
• Strong understanding of technical SEO principles.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Fact-Checking & Investigative Journalist to join our remote team. You will investigate suspicious AI-generated content, verify claims circulating online, identify manipulated media, and produce accurate, evidence-based fact-checking reports.

The role is predominantly online, making it suitable for applicants located anywhere in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate AI-generated misinformation, disinformation and deepfakes circulating online.
• Conduct thorough digital investigations using open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques and advanced online research methods.
• Verify claims, images, videos, audio recordings and social media content using credible sources and digital verification tools.
• Produce accurate, well-researched and evidence-based fact-check reports.
• Monitor emerging AI-related scams, synthetic media and misinformation trends.
• Maintain high editorial standards, accuracy and impartiality in all published work.
• Work independently while meeting agreed deadlines.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• A minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in fact-checking, investigative journalism or digital verification.
• Demonstrable experience investigating online misinformation or conducting fact-checking assignments.
• Excellent online research, search engine, and web-browsing skills.
• Exceptional ability to navigate and investigate content across major social media platforms.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written English and attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• A university degree, HND or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
