Telecommunications and digital services provider Globacom has launched “Gloria”, an artificial intelligence-powered virtual assistant, as part of its broader digital transformation strategy aimed at enhancing customer engagement and service delivery.
The company unveiled the innovation ahead of its 23rd anniversary celebrations, describing the AI assistant as a new addition to its customer service ecosystem. Gloria has been integrated into the Glo Café platform and is designed to assist subscribers through voice-enabled interactions while supporting six languages.
Globacom said the introduction of Gloria forms part of a wider programme of technological and service improvements intended to deliver a more seamless customer experience for its subscribers.
The telecom operator disclosed the development during a recent engagement with trade partners in Lagos, where it highlighted a range of initiatives focused on improving service quality and expanding digital access across its network.
According to the company, Gloria will enable customers to access support more efficiently through AI-driven interactions, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and digital service delivery.
The launch comes as Globacom continues an extensive nationwide network upgrade programme. The company said the initiative includes enhancements to its core, transmission, IP and fibre infrastructure, alongside the deployment of additional 4G LTE sites in both densely populated and underserved areas.

In addition, the company revealed plans to further improve the Glo Café platform and expand services such as “Borrow Me Credit” to help customers remain connected even when their account balances are low.
The unveiling of Gloria underscores the growing adoption of artificial intelligence within the telecommunications sector, where operators are increasingly deploying AI-powered tools to automate customer interactions, improve response times and enhance user experience.
As Globacom approaches its 23rd anniversary on 29 August, the company says it remains focused on leveraging technology and innovation to strengthen customer satisfaction and support the evolving digital needs of its subscribers.
