Toyota and its software subsidiary Woven by Toyota have unveiled new artificial intelligence technologies aimed at advancing the company’s “Kakezan” vision, a strategy focused on multiplying innovation through collaboration across mobility, data, and infrastructure systems.
In an official statement, Toyota said the new AI systems are being developed and tested within Woven City to support real-world experimentation in transportation, safety, and urban services.
A central component of the rollout is the Woven City AI Vision Engine, a large-scale model designed to integrate visual and environmental data to better understand real-time conditions and support decision-making across connected systems.
Woven by Toyota noted that the technology is intended to “complement human intuition and capability while enabling new forms of co-creation in mobility services,” reflecting its broader approach to human-centred AI development.
The company also introduced supporting digital infrastructure systems, including platforms for city-wide data integration, which are expected to improve coordination between mobility services and urban systems.
Toyota described the “Kakezan” concept as a framework in which different technologies, industries, and partners combine to generate amplified innovation outcomes, positioning Woven City as a living testbed for future mobility solutions.
The announcement underscores Toyota’s continued shift toward AI-driven mobility and smart city development, with Woven by Toyota playing a central role in its software and data strategy.
