As Cassava Technologies moves to strengthen digital infrastructure and accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence across Africa and other developing regions, the company has launched a new cloud partner programme to expand access to AI and cloud services across emerging markets.
The initiative, known as the Cassava Cloud Partner Program, will allow telecommunications operators, system integrators and technology providers to resell and deploy AI-powered cloud solutions using Cassava’s infrastructure and platforms.
The company said the programme is designed to help organisations overcome the high cost and complexity of deploying advanced AI systems by providing access to scalable computing resources, cloud platforms and AI services through a partnership ecosystem.
According to Cassava, partners will be able to leverage its network of data centres, fibre connectivity and AI platforms to deliver AI-enabled applications to enterprises, governments and developers across emerging markets.
Ahmed El Beheiry said the programme is part of a broader effort to expand access to AI technologies across the continent.
“Africa and other emerging markets must not be left behind in the AI revolution. By enabling partners to access our cloud and AI infrastructure, we are creating an ecosystem where innovation can flourish, and businesses of all sizes can build intelligent solutions,” he said.
The programme is expected to support the deployment of AI-powered services across sectors such as telecommunications, finance, agriculture, healthcare and public services.
Cassava added that the platform will integrate with its growing AI ecosystem, including the CAIMEx AI multi-model platform, which provides access to leading large language models and AI tools through a single interface for mobile network operators and enterprises.
Industry analysts say initiatives like this could help close the infrastructure gap that has slowed AI adoption across many developing economies. AI development typically requires significant computing power and cloud infrastructure, which remain costly and difficult to access in many African markets.
El Beheiry noted that the company is also focused on building what it describes as a sovereign AI ecosystem for the region.
“Our goal is to ensure that organisations across emerging markets can develop and deploy AI solutions while maintaining control of their data and digital infrastructure,” he said. “This programme enables partners to deliver trusted, locally hosted AI capabilities to their customers.”
Founded by African telecom entrepreneur Strive Masiyiwa, Cassava Technologies operates a broad ecosystem of digital infrastructure businesses, including fibre connectivity, cybersecurity, cloud services and data centres. The company operates in more than 40 markets across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
“AI is becoming a foundation for the next phase of digital transformation,” El Beheiry added. “By working with partners across the region, we can expand access to the infrastructure and tools needed to build solutions that address local challenges.”
