The GPU Technology Conference (GTC) 2026, NVIDIA’s annual artificial intelligence and accelerated computing conference, opened today at the San Jose Convention Centre. The event runs through March 19 and has drawn tens of thousands of developers, researchers, engineers, and business leaders from over 190 countries.
Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, delivered the opening keynote. He said,
“AI is no longer a single breakthrough, or application…it is an essential infrastructure. Every company will use it; Every nation will build it.”
GTC 2026 features more than 1,000 sessions covering AI development, accelerated computing, robotics, scientific computing, quantum computing, and enterprise AI deployment. The conference includes hands-on workshops, training labs, and certification programs.
Industry insiders expect announcements on next-generation AI hardware, including a chip named Feynman, and updates to NVIDIA’s Rubin microarchitecture. The keynote is also expected to highlight improvements to NVIDIA’s software platforms, including CUDA, AI agents, and robotics systems.
Other expected announcements at the conference include the launch of new AI data centre solutions, enhancements to NVIDIA’s large-scale model deployment capabilities, partnerships with startups and enterprise clients for real-time AI inference, and updates to AI-powered simulation and robotics tools for industrial and scientific applications.
The conference emphasises AI inference and real-time computing. Analysts noted that NVIDIA is expanding partnerships to support AI deployment across multiple industries. Huang highlighted the importance of AI infrastructure for both companies and nations.
Global brands such as L’Oréal are expected to present their AI strategies, with a focus on product development, customer experience, and digital transformation.
Market observers said the event could influence investment and development in AI infrastructure and accelerated computing. Analysts noted that announcements on hardware and software could affect the strategies of cloud providers, semiconductor companies, and enterprise AI adopters.
GTC 2026 also includes startup programming, research poster sessions, and community outreach events. Over 240 companies from NVIDIA’s startup program are participating to showcase AI technologies. Student and community events on the final day aim to broaden access to AI education.
The conference provides live streaming of keynotes and selected sessions, enabling global participation.
