“DataLens Africa, an initiative of CipherSense AI, is positioning the continent at the heart of the global AI revolution with the launch of its ‘AI Talent Network’. The workforce development platform aims to train and certify thousands of young Africans for roles in the international artificial intelligence data economy.
Since a soft launch in January 2026, more than 150 participants have completed early training cohorts, underscoring strong demand for structured AI career pathways. The programme has ambitious plans to train more than 3,000 professionals in data-related AI roles.
Olaoye Anthony Somide, Founding Partner and CEO of CipherSense AI, emphasised the importance of human insight in AI development. “The future of AI will not be built by machines alone; it will be built by people who understand context, language, and lived reality,” he said. “The AI Talent Network is about building that human infrastructure-a workforce capable of shaping how intelligent systems understand Africa and the world.”
The initiative addresses a critical gap in global AI models, which often underrepresent African contexts because they rely on Western-centric datasets. By equipping African professionals with the skills to contribute to AI datasets and systems, DataLens Africa aims to ensure the continent plays a foundational role in shaping inclusive and globally relevant AI technologies.”
